Exfoliation is crucial for all skin types in order to stimulate skin renewal and cellular regeneration. It is of particular importance for ageing skins and skin disorders such as acne or hyperpigmentation as these skins suffer from irregular cell turnover and need help to speed up this process. Exfoliation also enhances the penetration of further applied products and serums so is essential preparation for an advanced skincare regime or skin treatment.
What is a skin peel?
Skin peels involve the topical application of a chemical exfoliating solution to dissolve the very superficial surface layers of the skin. They instantly brighten and tighten the skin and create a smooth and even texture.
What can they treat?
- Skin discolouration/hyperpigmentation
- Dull/lifeless skin
- UV damage
- Thickened/congested skin
- Lines and wrinkles
- Uneven texture and tone
What is the downtime after treatment?
There are many different types of skin peels with varying depths and lengths of downtime. At Inject Skin our peels work epidermally to allow for lunchtime “return to work” treatments. They provide optimum exfoliation with minimal post treatment redness and shedding and can be performed as often as fortnightly. Based on your concerns, a course of treatments may be recommended and an accompanying homecare regime prescribed to ensure optimal results.
